Most people find travelling by air the most convenient method of getting to and from the Alps. Available flights will bring you into Geneva. We offer complimentary airport transfers when booking a 7 day holiday subject to conditions.
Important Notes... 1) Baggage Allowance with most carriers is 20kgs per person with 10kg for hand luggage, Ryanair only allow 15kg and 5kg hand luggage. Some carriers like Ryanair and Easyjet charge for luggage in the hold. Watch out as they are now thinking about charging for check in services and toilet use on the plane!
2) DON'T FORGET YOUR VALID PASSPORT! (If you are not a UK passport holder please check your visa status).
3) Airline flights are among the fastest growing sources of global warming gases. But you can make your travel a little greener. Calculate your flight emissions and then 'neutralize' them through community projects which save exactly the same amount of carbon dioxide.... Click here The Carbon Neutral Company.

The Eurostar train is a great way of traveling and it can be a time efficient and hassle free journey, particularly if it's easy for you to get to the new St Pancras station, London or Ashford in Kent. It's a comfortable and relaxing way to get to the Alps without the stress of the airports. There are usually no changes throughout the journey and you arrive in Bourg St. Maurice, only 30kms from the chalet! We will greet you at the station.

Should you prefer to drive to the Alps, the cost of a car with four passengers averages about £80 per head for a round trip to the Tarentaise Valley if you live within 200 miles of Dover. The journey should take you no longer than nine hours from Calais. There are a number of different ways to cross the channel which includes the Channel Tunnel which takes approximately 35 minutes, a speed ferry (which can be the most cost effective) which gets you across in 50 minutes or a standard car ferry which normally takes around 90 minutes. Aim for a ferry departure from UK at around 0800 hrs. You should then arrive at the chalet between 1800 and 1900hrs. The route is easily navigated and follows autoroutes for 95% of the journey.
The tolls for a return journey are approximately £70 each way. Payment by card or cash. Expect to pay approximately £1,32 per litre for petrol on the autoroute, diesel is over 10% cheaper.
Our recommendation is that you take out insurance for your trip – try Travel-Quest's insurance section which provides links to holiday insurance companies – here you'll find a good selection of holiday insurance providers offering single trip, multi-trip and annual cover; as well as specialist travel insurance for older travellers, families, cyclists, skiers, GAP years, backpackers and adventure activities.
